The targeted modification facility is a new set of algorithms in PoreXpert which are only available to PoreXpert Professional and PoreXpert Cloud users. The targeted modification facility gives the user the ability to change the size of void features, remove void features or change the contents of the void structure. The following tutorial will explain how to select pore features in the unit cell, change the content of the cell, to simulate formation damage encountered during improved oil recovery.

 

The targeted modification tutorial uses a 15 x 15 x 15 unit cell, to follow the tutorial on your computer you need to be running PoreXpert Professional, all users of PoreXpert are able to open the results file to view the results of the tutorial.

 

In the tutorial a sandstone sample has been used and fitted using a random structure. The Fontainebleau sandstone raw data is available in the tutorial files folder.
