PoreXpand uses an XML based file format to store all of the blank data. The blank database files are located in: My Documents\PoreXpert\PoreXpand\Blanks .

 

The files store the following properties

 

•Penetrometer Name / Number

oRequired to identify the penetrometer accurately so the correct penetrometer is used to correct the blank

•Empty volume of the penetrometer

•Pressure table description

oThis can be very useful if you use the same penetrometer with different pressure tables, it allows the user to create a blank database for the correct pressure table

•Density of mercury

oAllows multiple blank penetrometer runs to be stored in the database, so you do not need to check multiple files to find the correct blank.

•Weight of penetrometer assembly filled with mercury

•Intrusion and Extrusion data

 

Each database file can store more than one blank penetrometer run by using the append option on the blank database screen.
