Many examples of experimental input files are included on the …\Documents\PoreXpert\Example Files\Experimental Data directory created on your computer when you download and install the PoreXpert software.
Here there are additional files to download. To download them, click on the highlighted link. If a download option does not automatically open, click on the link with the right-hand button of your mouse, and Copy link address. Open a new tab on your browser. In the window labelled ..’type a URL’, click with the right-hand button of your mouse, and click Paste. Then click on the end of the address and press your return key, whereupon the Save As option will open to allow you to choose a directory into which to save the file.
To look at various different void network structure types, download this demonstration file containing the 7 different structure types listed below. They can be viewed with either the fully licensed Academic or Professional versions of the software, or with the free unit cell viewer available from the main downloads page.
Files are available to support the Introductory tutorials: Tutorial files
the Intermediate tutorial: Intermediate tutorial modelling own sample
and the Advanced tutorial: Advanced Tutorial Artefacts .
The following batch tests all structure types for a 15x15x15 grid unit cell: fitting all types 15x batch.pXt
To try out batch mode, download and save this batch file. Choose any sample. At the Sampling screen, click Accept. However, at the next screen, Curve Fitting, click Go Home not Accept – which will take you back to the Operations List screen. Then click PoreBatch | Open batch description … , and click on the batch file you have just downloaded to load it into PoreXpert. Then click PoreBatch | Run batch list … , (or the shortcut Shift + R).The sample will be fitted in Batch mode, and several properties illustrated: fluid migration, fluid uptake, thermal conductivity, permeability and tortuosity.
Batch mode is also useful when optimising the fit using different stochastic generations. To do that, follow the instructions above, but using one of these batch files:
Vertically banded structure type, 25x25x25 unit cell, first five stochastic generations: fitting_batch_5_stoch_gens_VB_x25.pXt
Horizontal Large to Small structure type, 25x25x25 unit cell, first five stochastic generations: fitting_batch_5_stoch_gens_HLtoS_x25.pXt
